V.C. Sajjanar Takes Charge as the New Hyderabad Police Commissioner

In a major administrative reshuffle, V.C. Sajjanar, a 1996 batch IPS officer known for his firm stance on law enforcement, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. He officially took charge on September 30, 2025, succeeding C.V. Anand, who has been transferred to the Home Department as Special Chief Secretary.

V.C. Sajjanar is widely recognized for his integrity and strong leadership in policing. He previously served as the Commissioner of Cyberabad Police and Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). Known for his focus on women and child safety, cybercrime prevention, and community-friendly policing, Sajjanar has earned a reputation as a committed officer with an unwavering commitment to public welfare.

As the new Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Sajjanar has introduced the “People Welfare Policing” (PWP) model, emphasizing safety, service, and proactive protection across the city.
