Hyderabad: UR Advanced Therapeutics, a biotech firm incubated at the University of Hyderabad’s ASPIRE, has unveiled its new brand ‘Bio Varam’ aimed at making advanced regenerative medicine and diagnostic solutions accessible to all. The launch, held at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, featured Dr K.I. Varaprasad Reddy, founder of Shantha Biotech, was the chief guest. He urged the team to work toward making regenerative therapies a universal right, much like Shanvac made life-saving vaccines affordable.
Bio Varam founder Dr Jaganmohan Reddy said the company aims to build a sustainable, AI-driven innovation hub that delivers world-class technologies in regenerative medicine and diagnostics. It will offer research-use kits across India within five working days, supporting innovators from academia to industry. The company’s development plans include diagnostic and therapeutic products in tissue engineering, oncology, ophthalmology, and immune modulation. It is also launching a ‘Founders-in-Residence’ programme to mentor and support emerging biotech entrepreneurs. Chief operating officer Dr Aparna Rachamallu added that their focus is on giving researchers rapid access to peptide tools and diagnostics without compromising quality or affordability.
Bio Varam specialises in AI-designed peptides, exosome-based diagnostics, and biomaterials such as atelocollagen and peptide scaffolds for tissue-specific regeneration. Its infrastructure includes molecular biology labs, peptide synthesis platforms, and advanced analytical suites. The company has earned multiple accolades, including the Start-up Maharathi Challenge 2025 and the IKP Rise Award 2025. It received initial support from Bhavya Constructions, ASPIRE, BioCyTiH Foundation, and the Biotechnology Ignition Grant.
