The Greater Hyderabad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GHSPCA) is setting a new benchmark for animal welfare in the city with the construction of a state-of-the-art multi-speciality animal hospital and shelter in Begum Bazar, Hyderabad. The ambitious facility, expected to be completed by July 2026, promises to provide comprehensive care to rescued and injured animals, as well as birds.
The upcoming hospital will be equipped with an operation theatre, X-ray room, pharmacy, outpatient and inpatient wards, a recovery room, and special care units for birds. Unique additions such as stretcher lifts, a consultation room, and a dedicated seminar hall for awareness programs highlight the facility’s commitment to holistic care and education.
Significantly, the hospital aims to extend free treatment for all rescued animals and birds. GHSPCA will also work in coordination with the Forest Department for the treatment of wild animals and reptiles, further strengthening Hyderabad’s animal rescue ecosystem. The total construction cost is estimated at ₹1.60 crore, funded entirely by donations.
With construction underway following a recent ground-breaking ceremony, the GHSPCA continues its mission of compassion, rehabilitation, and awareness, inviting donors and volunteers to join their cause. Once complete, this hospital and shelter will become a vital resource for animal welfare in Hyderabad, reflecting the city’s growing empathy and commitment towards all living beings.
