The Hyderabad-based joint venture has reached a major manufacturing milestone, strengthening India’s role in the global aerospace and defence supply chain.
Hyderabad: Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), has rolled out its 400th fuselage for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter from its manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
Announcing the achievement on Monday, September 7, 2026, the company said the fuselages manufactured in India support Apache helicopters operated across the world. The milestone reflects the growing capabilities of India’s aerospace manufacturing sector and its increasing contribution to international defence programmes.
Established in 2016, the project operates from a 52,000-square-metre facility in Hyderabad. The facility employs more than 750 engineers and technicians involved in producing advanced aerostructures for the Apache helicopter programme.
According to TBAL, the achievement demonstrates the maturity of India’s aerospace ecosystem and its successful integration into global defence supply chains. The programme also supports the vision of manufacturing in India for both domestic and international requirements.
India currently operates 28 AH-64E Apache helicopters. The Indian Air Force has 22 Apaches, while the Indian Army operates six.
The Hyderabad facility had delivered its 300th Apache fuselage in February 2025. Reaching the 400th-fuselage milestone highlights the rapid progress and expanding production capabilities of the Tata Boeing partnership in India.
