HyperVault plans Rs 70,000 crore AI data centre in Hyderabad, creating around 7,000 jobs.
Hyderabad: HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced plans to develop a large-scale artificial intelligence data centre campus in Hyderabad with an investment of up to Rs 70,000 crore.
The company has secured 264 acres of land for the project, which is planned as a purpose-built AI infrastructure campus with a capacity of up to 1 Gigawatt (GW).
The facility will cater to frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, offering high-density computing infrastructure supported by advanced liquid-cooling technology.
Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged HyperVault to complete and inaugurate the AI data centre by June 2, 2028, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day.
“Our state formation day is June 2. From groundbreaking to inauguration, there are 21 months from today. We want to inaugurate your AI data centre on June 2, 2028,” the Chief Minister said.
He assured the company that the Telangana government would extend all necessary support and facilitate the required approvals for the project.
Project Expected to Create 7,000 Jobs
Revanth Reddy described the announcement as a major milestone for Bharat Future City, being developed by the Telangana government on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
He said the Rs 70,000 crore investment is among the largest AI and data infrastructure investments announced for the region and is expected to generate around 7,000 employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister also encouraged the company to increase its investment in Telangana to Rs 1 lakh crore, assuring continued support from the state government.
Telangana Targets $1 Trillion Economy by 2034
Highlighting Telangana’s long-term economic ambitions, Revanth Reddy said the state aims to become a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and reach USD 3 trillion by 2047.
He said Telangana currently contributes about five per cent to India’s GDP and that the government aims to increase the state’s contribution to 10 per cent.
“I want to contribute 10 per cent of the GDP of this country. I need support from TCS and many other Fortune 500 companies to reach a USD one trillion economy by 2034 and a USD three trillion economy by 2047,” he said.
AI Cannot Replace All Jobs, Says CM
Addressing concerns over the impact of artificial intelligence on employment, the Chief Minister said AI may affect several engineering and technology roles but cannot completely replace blue-collar jobs.
He highlighted the establishment of Young India Skills University as part of the government’s efforts to equip young people with industry-relevant skills and prepare them for emerging employment opportunities.
Revanth Reddy also assured investors that Telangana offers a stable and supportive business environment, saying the government has strengthened its policies and is focused on attracting major investments.
He added that Telangana’s ambitions go beyond competing with neighbouring states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
“Our role models are China, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. We want to compete with them and not with neighbouring states,” he said.
