Battula Shivadhar Reddy has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana, taking charge from October 1, 2025. A 1994-batch IPS officer and native of Ranga Reddy district, he brings over three decades of experience, having served in key intelligence and policing roles across the state. Known for his expertise in technology-driven policing and major law enforcement operations, Reddy aims to modernize Telangana Police and strengthen law and order, marking a promising new chapter for Hyderabad and the state.
The Government of Telangana is a democratically elected body that governs the state of Telangana, India. It comprises of the Governor, Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundararajan who is the ceremonial head of the state, with a democratically elected Chief Minister, Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy, and his council of ministers who run the state.
