Shikha Goel, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1994 batch, currently serves as the Director General of the Telangana Vigilance and Enforcement Department. Taking charge on October 2, 2025, she also holds the position of Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to the Government of Telangana’s General Administration Department (GAD). Alongside her vigilance role, Shikha Goel continues to oversee the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, reinforcing her commitment to strengthening governance through transparency and accountability.

Born on March 7, 1969, Shikha Goel’s impressive academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree with honors in botany from Miranda House, Delhi University, followed by a master’s and M.Phil in botany, and an Advanced Management Programme in public policy from the Indian School of Business. She is also an accredited civil and commercial mediator through ADR ODR International, England.

After joining the IPS in 1995, Shikha Goel trained at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad and began her career serving in Jammu and Kashmir Police as Assistant Superintendent of Police. Later transferred to Andhra Pradesh Police in 1999, she took on various key roles before joining Telangana Police. She has held prestigious positions including Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) CID, Director of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, head of Women Safety Wing, and Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, among others.

Known for her strategic leadership and unwavering dedication, Shikha Goel has been honored with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2021 and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2011.

In her new role as Director General of Vigilance, she aims to enhance transparency, integrity, and effectiveness within governance. Her career reflects a strong commitment to public safety, justice, and ethical administration, making her a key figure in Telangana’s law enforcement landscape.
