A journey back through the records, the stars, and the spirit that made this year unforgettable.
As the sun sets on 2025, it’s hard not to feel a little bit emotional looking back at the year we’ve had. If you’ve been following Hyderabad Stories this year, you know our city didn’t just grow—it transformed.
From the narrow lanes of the Old City to the futuristic skyline of Bharat Future City, 2025 was a year where Hyderabad truly belonged to the world. Let’s relive the mega-moments that defined our year.
The World Came to HITEX
In May, the global spotlight was on us as we hosted the 72nd Miss World pageant. Seeing contestants from 100+ countries falling in love with the Charminar and Falaknuma Palace was a proud moment for every Hyderabadi. We didn’t just host an event; we showed the world what Tehzeeb really looks like.
A Record-Breaking Bloom
Our festivals always hit differently, but this year’s Bathukamma was legendary. At Saroornagar Stadium, we saw a massive 63-foot floral stack—the largest ever made. It wasn’t just about the Guinness World Record; it was about the thousands of women dancing together, keeping the heart of Telangana’s culture beating loud and proud.
Stardom & Speed at Gachibowli
Who could forget December 6th? The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) brought gravity-defying stunts to Gachibowli, but the loudest cheers weren’t for the bikes—they were for Salman Khan. Having “Bhai” in the stands cheering right along with us turned a race into a full-blown celebration.
The GOAT in Gachibowli
If you told us a few years ago that Lionel Messi would be playing in our backyard, we wouldn’t have believed it. But 2025 made it happen. The energy at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was electric, and more importantly, the world noticed how flawlessly Hyderabad manages the biggest stars. No chaos, just pure Messi magic.
The Soundtrack of Our Year
Our playlists came to life this year! From the soulful vibes of Ed Sheeran at Ramoji Film City to the bass-heavy night with DJ Snake, Hyderabad became the ultimate concert destination. We sang our hearts out with Shreya Ghoshal and Armaan Malik, and let AR Rahman take us on a symphonic journey to close out the season.
Looking Ahead: Telangana Rising
We’re ending the year at the Telangana Rising Global Summit. It’s not just about the billions in investments; it’s about the vision for our future. Standing at the new Bharat Future City, you can feel it—Hyderabad is no longer just following the future; we are building it.
