How Telangana is blending artificial intelligence with law enforcement to create a ‘Drug-Free State.
The historic streets of Hyderabad just got a high-tech upgrade in the interest of public safety. This Tuesday, the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC)—the city’s sprawling nerve center of surveillance and security—played host to a landmark event. Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy officially pulled the curtain back on the new EAGLE Force website, a digital fortress designed to dismantle drug abuse through code, community, and care.

More Than Just a Website
While most government portals serve as static repositories of information, the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE Force) platform is an interactive ecosystem. Developed in collaboration with the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGCSB), the site is designed to be a 24/7 lifeline for citizens.
The standout feature? A trio of AI-driven tools tailored to different segments of society. By making these tools available in Telugu, English, Hindi, and Urdu, the government has ensured that the “Language of Safety” is accessible to everyone in the state.
The AI Triple Threat: Sahay, Shield, and Mitra TG
To tackle the multifaceted nature of drug abuse, the platform introduces three distinct “Digital Officers”:
- Sahay AI (The Informant): Think of this as a 24/7 encyclopedia. Sahay is designed to answer public queries and debunk myths surrounding narcotic substances, legal consequences, and health risks.
- Shield AI (The Protector): This tool focuses on deep education. It guides users through the harrowing physical, psychological, and social challenges of drug consumption, acting as a preventative mirror for those at risk.
- Mitra TG (The Guardian): Specifically built for parents and educators, Mitra TG assists in the early detection of drug use signs among youth, empowering the community to intervene before a habit becomes a crisis.
A Culture of Confidentiality
One of the biggest hurdles in drug enforcement is the fear of social stigma or retaliation. The new portal addresses this head-on with a secure reporting feature. Citizens can now share tips on drug trafficking and suspicious activities with absolute anonymity.
By streamlining the bridge between “seeing something” and “saying something,” the EAGLE Force is effectively turning the entire population of Hyderabad into a watchful community.
The Verdict
The launch at the TGICCC isn’t just about catching criminals; it’s about saving futures. As DGP Shivadhar Reddy emphasized during the inauguration, the goal is a “Drug-Free Telangana.” With the power of AI now in the pockets of every Hyderabadi, the state has taken a massive leap toward making that vision a reality.
