Hyderabad: Sneha Mehra, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone), along with other officials, visited Lal Darwaza to inspect the arrangements for the Bonalu 2025 celebrations scheduled for Sunday.
The police have also announced traffic restrictions for the day to ensure smooth movement and public safety.
Arrangements for Bonalu 2025 in Hyderabad
Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sneha Mehra stated that multiple departments — including the Electricity Board, GHMC, the temple committee, and the event organizing committee — have jointly reviewed and coordinated the arrangements for the Bonalu celebrations.
Queue management, barricading, sanitation, power supply, and traffic arrangements have all been thoroughly reviewed for the upcoming Sunday celebrations, Sneha Mehra added.
She also mentioned that SHE Teams will be deployed to ensure the safety of women during the festivities.
Traffic Diversions for Bonalu
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Bonalu celebrations scheduled for July 20 and 21, outlining key diversions and alternate routes to manage the expected rush in the city.
The traffic restrictions will be in effect from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on both July 20 and 21 during the Bonalu celebrations.
In an official notification, the Rachakonda Police announced that wine shops and bars attached to restaurants (excluding those in star hotels and registered clubs) within the L.B. Nagar, Malkajgiri, and Maheshwaram zones will remain closed on July 20 due to the Bonalu festivities.
Additionally, educational institutions, including schools and colleges, across Hyderabad have declared a holiday on Monday in view of the Bonalu 2025 celebrations.
