Team Orangutan dominates Hyderabad finale to lift BMSD 2025 crown, books global championship spot
Hyderabad: The Tesseract Arena burst into celebration this weekend as Team Orangutan emerged as the undisputed champions of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (BMSD) 2025, capping off a power-packed finale in the heart of Hyderabad. With a stellar 147 points on the leaderboard, the squad defeated K9 Esports (142 points) and Team SouL (134 points) to clinch the coveted crown and secure a berth at the prestigious Global Championship 2025.
Thrilling finals at Tesseract Arena
The three-day finale, held from October 10–12, brought together 16 of India’s finest BGMI teams, each vying for a share of the massive ₹1 crore prize pool. Despite struggling early on the final day, Team Orangutan displayed nerves of steel—snagging crucial finishes in the last two matches that sealed their title win and earned them the ₹30 lakh championship prize.
The Hyderabad crowd witnessed a spectacle of strategies, precision, and pure esports adrenaline, solidifying the city’s reputation as a fast-growing hub for gaming events in India.

With the BMSD trophy secured, Team Orangutan now heads to Delhi NCR for the Global Championship 2025, slated between October 31 and November 2, where they’ll represent India among elite international teams from Japan, South Korea, and beyond. Additionally, the top eight BMSD franchises will compete in the upcoming BGMI International Cup (BMIC 2025), a key global qualifying event.
