Hyderabad witnessed an inspiring show of solidarity and strength as over 30,000 participants gathered at the Gachibowli Stadium on October 12, 2025, for the eighth edition of the Global Grace Cancer Run. Organized by the Grace Cancer Foundation, the event also attracted an additional 1.5 lakh participants joining virtually from more than 130 countries, making it one of the largest global cancer awareness runs.
Fitness enthusiasts, cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, and citizens from all walks of life came together early Sunday morning to run with a purpose — to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and accessible treatment. The event included 2K, 5K, and 10K running categories, catering to runners of all levels and ages.
The Grace Cancer Foundation, founded by oncologist Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, continues its mission to expand cancer screening and treatment facilities, especially targeting rural and underserved communities. Funds raised through the run will help provide free mobile cancer screening to those in need, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to saving lives through awareness and intervention.
The event’s highlight was the honoring of cancer conquerors Neelima, Prakash, Sangeetha, and Geetha, who courageously shared their journeys of survival, inspiring the crowd with resilience and hope. The 10K race winners were also celebrated with cash prizes, recognizing outstanding athletic achievement alongside the noble cause.
Key dignitaries such as Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, and Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar graced the occasion, urging the public to take personal responsibility in the fight against cancer. Actor Adivi Sesh, attending for the first time, expressed his commitment to supporting future runs and spreading the message of cancer awareness.
With musical performances and a spirit of community, the Grace Cancer Run 2025 was not just a race but a powerful movement towards a cancer-free world, uniting Hyderabad and global participants in hope and action.
