Hyderabad’s fruit lovers are in for a treat as truckloads of fresh Kashmiri apples have begun flooding the city’s markets. Following a bumper harvest in Kashmir, the city’s major fruit mandi at Batasingaram is seeing daily arrivals of premium-quality apples directly from Jammu & Kashmir.
Different varieties such as Kulu Delicious, Kinor, Jonthon, Maharaji, and Walayati Amberi are now available in abundance. Over the past week, about 19 tonnes of these apples have arrived, helping bring down prices and offering consumers more affordable options.
Earlier arrivals from Himachal Pradesh started in late August, but this seasonal influx of Kashmiri produce is expected to last through the winter. Each truck brings between 600 to 1,000 boxes, each containing 50 to 180 apples, depending on type and packaging.
This fresh arrival is excellent news for Hyderabad residents seeking quality fruits at reasonable prices. The apples’ steady supply is expected to continue until January, making it a perfect season for apple lovers across the city.
