In a progressive move to recognise and motivate exemplary police personnel, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has launched the ‘Extra Mile Reward’ initiative. Announced during his first video conference with officers from across the city, this programme aims to reward officers who demonstrate a humanitarian approach and go beyond their routine duties.
Under this initiative, officers who receive public appreciation for their compassionate and dedicated service will be identified every week and honoured with a certificate and a special reward. Commissioner Sajjanar emphasised that this programme will encourage professionalism, compassion, and integrity within the force.
Speaking about the new initiative, Sajjanar said, “Officers who earn public appreciation will be felicitated every Saturday. It is important that police maintain respect and uphold the prestige of the Hyderabad Police Department.”
Alongside the launch, Sajjanar highlighted strict action against personnel found guilty of negligence or misconduct, reinforcing zero tolerance for any abuse of power. The Commissioner called on all police units to work in coordination to make Hyderabad safer, focusing on making the city drug-free and protecting women and children from harassment.
The commendable efforts of officers like Sub Inspectors Sudhakar, Shobha, Saikanth, Shivakumar, and others were recognised for cracking complex cases and rescuing vulnerable individuals. These officers exemplify the spirit of the ‘Extra Mile Reward’ programme.
Renowned Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi also congratulated Commissioner Sajjanar on the new initiative during a recent courtesy meeting, appreciating the positive transformation within Hyderabad Police.
This reward programme marks a significant step in uplifting the morale of police personnel and fostering a community-centric approach to policing in Hyderabad. It reflects the Commissioner’s vision to combine discipline with empathy, thereby strengthening public trust in law enforcement.
Hyderabadites can look forward to a more responsive, compassionate, and effective police force as the ‘Extra Mile Reward’ programme gains momentum.
