Four students from government-run institutions in Hyderabad have been selected at the state level for Japan’s Sakura Science Program. The selected students are Sarbajit De, Naba Mohammadi, and S Bhasker from Telangana Model Schools and Junior Colleges, and Vidhya Singh from KGBV Mancherial. The program is implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
School Education Director EV Narsimha Reddy congratulated the students on their selection. Initially, students were selected at the district level based on the Ministry of Education’s norms. They were then screened at the state level through written tests and interviews. The program aims to enhance youth exchange between Japan and other countries.
As part of the program, high school students will have the opportunity to experience Japan’s most advanced scientific technology and meet outstanding scientists. This year’s program is scheduled from November 10 to 16.
