Ahead of Lionel Messi’s December 13 visit, promoters of the GOAT Tour inspected the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, the proposed host venue for the GOAT Cup.
Parvathi Reddy, chief patron and advisor, and Satadru Dutta, chief promoter of The GOAT Tour India, were present in the stands along with Christopher Flannery and Pablo Negre, Lionel Messi’s international tour adviser and personal manager. Dr. Rohin Reddy, a member of the coordination committee, also attended the inspection.
The quartet inspected the venue and absorbed the vibrant environment, with over 10,000 fans present for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Baroda and Punjab.
Dr. Rohin said the delegation visited the stadium to inspect the ground conditions, with a focus on the entry and exit points. They also discussed the programmes planned for the event, operational details and the security arrangements being put in place.
In addition to an exhibition football match, which will be inaugurated by Lionel Messi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the former Barcelona star and current Inter Miami forward is scheduled to conduct a football clinic for selected young players.
Celebrities from the film industry are also expected to attend, and cultural performances are part of the lineup. The festivities are likely to conclude by 9 p.m, after which the 38-year-old is expected to depart for Mumbai the next morning for the third leg of the tour.
