Hyderabad woke up to another wave of biting cold on January 7, 2026, as temperatures dipped sharply across the city. Several areas recorded below 12°C in the early hours, with the University of Hyderabad and Moula Ali shivering at a season-low 9.6°C.
Rajendranagar and Alwal followed closely at 10.7°C, while Bollaram registered 11.0°C. The chill spread widely across the city — West Marredpally recorded 11.3°C, Quthbullapur 11.4°C, and Sivarampalle 11.8°C.
Even central and typically warmer localities weren’t spared, with Kishan Bagh at 12.2°C, Suleman Nagar at 12.5°C, and Tirumalagiri at 12.6°C. Historic hotspots like Shapur Nagar and Sardar Mahal near Charminar cooled to 13.0°C and 13.2°C respectively, marking one of the city’s coldest mornings this winter.
