Hyderabad is set to become a unique hub for wildlife tourism with two upcoming night safari projects.
One part of the Telangana government’s ambitious Future City plan will be located in Muchar, spanning 203 acres. This high-tech safari will feature life-sized dinosaur models, virtual reality experiences, and modern entertainment options, with seamless metro rail connectivity planned for easy access.
Simultaneously, the renowned Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad is preparing to launch its own immersive night safari, expected to operate from 6 PM to 11 PM daily except Mondays. Following the Central Zoo Authority’s 2023 approval to lift the ban on night safaris, the zoo will showcase primarily nocturnal species such as owls, wild cats, civets, and bats, along with a pioneering bioluminescent park highlighting glowing organisms, with technical guidance from the Singapore Zoo.
These initiatives follow the cancellation of a previous night safari project in Kothwalguda due to environmental concerns. The current phased, sustainable approach prioritizes conservation and environmental compatibility.
Together, these projects aim to boost Hyderabad’s tourism appeal, align with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision for world-class urban amenities creates jobs and enhances the city’s reputation as a global business and lifestyle destination.
