Hyderabad is set to host the second edition of the HCL Cyclothon on November 9, 2025, promising world-class racing, mass participation, and India’s largest cycling prize pool of ₹33.6 lakh. Riders will compete on multiple loops of a scenic route alongside the Outer Ring Road. Organized by the HCL Group in partnership with the Government of Telangana and under the Cycling Federation of India’s (CFI) aegis, the event will turn Hyderabad into a vibrant cycling hub. Previous editions held in Noida, Chennai, and Hyderabad drew over 12,000 riders, and this year’s turnout is expected to be even larger. The CFI will act as the technical partner, managing route design and race regulations.
The HCL Cyclothon will include three categories: Professionals, Amateurs, and Green Ride, accommodating professional racers, experienced cyclists, and first-time riders. Registrations are open until October 26, 2025, at www.hclcyclothon.com. At the launch event, Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Special Projects (SPEED) and Investment Cell, Chief Minister’s Office, Tourism, Culture & Sports, stated, “Hyderabad’s growing enthusiasm for cycling is supported by expanding infrastructure and innovations such as the city’s first solar-roof cycling track. The HCL Cyclothon is a notable initiative to promote cycling as a healthy lifestyle choice and sustainable transportation, aligning with our goal to make Hyderabad a model cycling city.
Rajat Chandolia, Associate Vice President and Head of Brand Strategy at HCL Group, emphasized the company’s dedication: “The Cyclothon embodies HCL’s spirit of pushing boundaries and nurturing talent. The 2024 edition attracted 1,500 cyclists, demonstrating India’s increasing passion for cycling. This year, we aim to inspire endurance and encourage individuals to unlock their true potential.
Maninder Singh, Secretary General of CFI, stated, “Cycling is rapidly gaining popularity in India. Together with HCL, we aim to promote cycling as a lifestyle choice and a competitive sport, strengthening India’s presence on the global cycling stage.”
