HYDERABAD — In a major administrative push ahead of the monsoon season, the Telangana government has issued Government Order 1067, deploying 10 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers as Special Officers across the state’s erstwhile districts.
The move aims to establish proactive oversight on weather contingencies, rural infrastructure, and urban waterlogging, ensuring seamless coordination between district administrations and local leadership.
Key Focus Areas Under GO 1067
Under the newly issued order, the appointed special officers are tasked with tracking critical seasonal indicators:
- Hydrological Status: Rainfall patterns, reservoir capacities, and groundwater depletion.
- Essential Services: Uninterrupted power distribution and safe drinking water availability.
- Agriculture & Livestock: Monitoring crop health, emergency contingency planning, and seasonal advisory rollouts.
