Hyderabad, October 23, 2025: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to complete construction of the new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) at Goshamahal within two years. The CM emphasized that the new facility will reflect world-class healthcare standards with advanced infrastructure and medical equipment.
At a high-level review meeting held on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy announced the formation of a coordination committee comprising officials from the Health, GHMC, Police, Roads & Buildings, and Electricity departments. The committee will conduct field inspections every ten days to monitor progress and resolve bottlenecks in real time.
The upcoming OGH complex, spread over 26 acres with a built-up area of 32 lakh sq ft, will feature 2,000 beds, 29 major and 12 minor operation theatres, a helipad, robotic surgery units, academic blocks, and hostels for medical students. It will also include dedicated parking for 1,500 cars and a robust waste-treatment system.
To ensure smooth accessibility, Revanth Reddy instructed that new road networks and traffic management plans be developed around the hospital. He further directed that dedicated officers be appointed to supervise construction at every major health project in Hyderabad and other districts.
The Chief Minister set June 2026 as the target for completion, describing the new Osmania Hospital as one of Telangana’s most important public healthcare ventures — a facility envisioned to serve citizens for the next century.
