Former Asian, Mixed Team, and Junior World champion Esha Singh from Hyderabad secured her first individual world championship medal by winning bronze in the women’s 25m Pistol Olympic event at the ISSF World Championship held at the Olympic Shooting Range in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday. She scored 30 in the final, finishing behind South Korea’s reigning Olympic champion Yang Jiin, who won gold with a score of 40, and China’s Yao Qianxun, who took silver with 38. This medal adds to Esha’s already impressive year, marking her third individual ISSF medal, after winning gold and silver at World Cup stages earlier in 2025. India’s overall performance placed the country third on the medal table behind China and South Korea. Esha’s triumph highlights the rising prominence of Indian women shooters on the global stage and reflects her consistent excellence and composure under pressure.

India ended with a historic medal haul of one gold, three silver, and three bronze medals in these events. This achievement underscores India’s strong showing and rising stature in Olympic shooting sports.
India finished third on the medal table at the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol Cairo 2025, with a total of three gold, six silver, and four bronze medals. China topped the table with 12 gold, seven silver, and two bronze medals, while South Korea was second with seven gold, three silver, and four bronze medals. Esha Singh’s bronze was her third individual ISSF medal of the year, adding to gold and silver she won at World Cup stages earlier in 2025. Her final international competition for the year will be the ISSF World Cup Finals in Doha this December. Telangana Chief Minister congratulated Esha on November 15, praising her dedication and hard work as an inspiration to young athletes.
