K. Nikhila is currently serving as Director of Fisheries in Telangana. She is also Managing Director of TGFCOF (Telangana Government Fisheries Cooperative or related fisheries cooperative framework).
The Fisheries department is important for the state’s aquaculture, livelihood support to fishermen, regulatory oversight of water bodies for fishery, and promotion of sustainable fishing practices. As Director, she would oversee policy implementation, cooperative management, resource allocation, and inter-departmental coordination in these areas.
Batch & Cadre: She is from the 2015 IAS batch, belonging to the Telangana cadre.
Chief Executive Officer of TGIRD: She served as CEO of Telangana Institute of Rural Development. In that role, she focused on training, capacity building, rural governance, and development.
Secretary & CEO, Telangana Human Rights Commission (additional charge): She was given this responsibility in addition to her ongoing role at TGIRD. This indicates confidence in her administrative abilities and a broadened mandate beyond just rural development.
The Government of Telangana is a democratically elected body that governs the state of Telangana, India. It comprises of the Governor, Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundararajan who is the ceremonial head of the state, with a democratically elected Chief Minister, Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy, and his council of ministers who run the state.
