An estimated cost of Rs 10.81 lakh has been allocated for the development of a Butterfly Park by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB) Phase V.
According to a GHMC official, the Butterfly Park, which spans over 560 square meters, has unique features such as butterfly-attracting plants, butterfly-shaped benches, and a butterfly wing-inspired selfie point. As there was limited space, no play area for children was constructed. The park’s development is almost complete, and it is expected to be inaugurated within a month.
The GHMC official added that their goal is to create a habitat for butterflies in the Butterfly Park, and they are eagerly anticipating the growth of plants. Various plant species such as Lavender, Ixora, Jasmine, Vinca rosea, and Tecoma capensis are presently being cultivated to enhance the visual appeal of the park for visitors.
