An IIT-Kharagpur alumnus, Pawan Kumar Chandana has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a Master’s degree in thermal science and engineering, under the dual degree program. Pawan worked as a scientist in the rocket design center (VSSC) for six years at ISRO, for which he won two innovation awards. During this time, he worked on the GSLV Mk-III, the largest rocket made in India. He also worked as a System Engineer for the world’s third-largest solid rocket stage, S200, the booster rocket for GSLV Mk-III.
Skyroot Aerospace is the first private company in India to build a homegrown upper-stage rocket engine.
