Hyderabad: To alleviate congestion on major traffic corridors and enhance safety, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Amrapali Kata emphasized the focus on road widening and flyover construction.
On Wednesday, the Commissioner inspected urban infrastructure projects in the Charminar zone, including proposed road widening, development, and flyover constructions. She reviewed these projects with relevant authorities and evaluated proposals for elevated road infrastructure and flyovers to address the growing traffic demands.
Later, officials inspected the ongoing flyover construction from Aramghar to Nehru Zoological Park. The Commissioner directed town planning officials to clear encroachments and expedite the project’s completion. She also instructed town planning and project engineers to swiftly complete the land acquisition necessary for the flyover’s construction.
“The GHMC is dedicated to enhancing urban infrastructure and will take all necessary measures to ensure these projects are finished within the set timeline,” she stated.
Road Widening Proposals:
- Widening of the 100-feet road from Bengaluru National Highway to Shastripuram junction.
- Widening and development of the 100-feet road from Shastripuram junction to Engine Bowli.
- Widening and development of the 80-feet road from Azim Hotel to Church Gate.
- Widening and development of the 60-feet road from Chandrayangutta ‘X’ road to Barkas Road via Chandrayangutta police station.
- Widening and development of the 60 and 40-feet roads from Lucky Star Hotel to Hafeezbaba Nagar via Phoolbagh.
- Road widening from Bandlaguda to Errakunta.
Flyover Proposals:
- Construction of a flyover at Hafeezbaba Nagar junction.
- Construction of a flyover at Bandlaguda junction, including a left side down ramp at Owaisi junction.
