Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has consistently worked to improve the city’s infrastructure, emphasizing the beautification of junctions, flyovers, and parks.
Hyderabad’s commitment to enhancing greenery and sustainability has earned it an international green city award. The city’s efforts in expanding forested areas have not only gained national recognition but have also played a crucial role in creating a cleaner, pollution-free environment for its residents.
As part of these initiatives, the Telangana government allocated ₹149.84 crore for 224 beautification projects across six zones. Out of this, ₹5.33 crore has been utilized to complete 15 projects, while the remaining 209 are progressing through various stages of development.
The beautification drive features the installation of sculptures, artistic murals, and garden-themed flyover pillars, transforming Hyderabad’s urban landscape into a visual delight. Additionally, pedestrian safety has been prioritized with initiatives like seating arrangements at busy junctions and designated crosswalks to prevent accidents.
These efforts are designed not only to enhance the city today but also to inspire future generations, encouraging children and youth to appreciate the artistic and sustainable development of Hyderabad.
