Hyderabad: Medtronic, a leading medical technology company, has established its first major IT capability center outside of the U.S. in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
Co-located with Medtronic’s existing Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC), the new Global IT (GIT) center represents a $60 million investment expected to create 300 jobs over the next 3-5 years.
Focused on cutting-edge technologies such as cloud engineering, data platforms, digital health applications, hyper automation, and AI/ML, the center will leverage expertise in areas including cloud and DevOps, advanced analytics, integration, full-stack engineering, robotic process automation, and IT security.

“I am delighted that Medtronic is expanding its presence in Hyderabad,” said IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, who inaugurated the facility. “This investment underscores the vibrant innovation ecosystem and reflects the government’s progressive policies supporting the growth of the medical technologies sector.”

The new GIT center is anticipated to enhance productivity, mitigate risks, and foster growth in healthcare technology through diverse talent competencies. A primary focus area is Cloud & DevOps, where the center will utilize its proficiency in cloud computing and DevOps practices to facilitate efficient and scalable infrastructure and software delivery. Additionally, advanced capabilities in Analytics & Visualization will empower the team to uncover valuable insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
