Hyderabad: On Monday, August 12, Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari visited Golconda Fort to inspect the preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. She instructed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements.
The main highlight of this year’s Independence Day celebrations will be the extensive participation of cultural troupes, showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of Telangana through their traditional attire, according to a press release from the state government.
Director of Culture, Harikrishna, stated that over a thousand artists from various art forms—including Gussadi, Kommu Koya, Lambadi, Dappulu, Oggu Dollu, Kolatam, Bonalu Kolatam, Bhaindla Jamidikal, Chindu Yaksha Gaanam, Karrasaamu, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Perni, and Nagara Bheri—will take part in the Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort.
It was also decided to involve students from various schools to ignite the spirit of patriotism among the youth. The Chief Secretary directed the police department to ensure adequate security, bandobust, and traffic management to minimize public inconvenience, the release added.
All departments were instructed to work closely together to organize the event in a grand manner.
