Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy, born on June 20, 1962, and a former Indian Air Force pilot, is a distinguished politician serving as a Member of Parliament for the Nalgonda constituency in Telangana. His career, unique for blending military service as a fighter pilot with political leadership, includes significant stints as an MLA for Kodad and Huzurnagar. As the head of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee from 2015 to 2021, Reddy demonstrated notable leadership. A five-time MLA, he contributed to Telangana’s political landscape, particularly as the Minister of Housing in N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s cabinet. His recent victory in the 2023 Assembly Elections from Huzurnagar and subsequent role as a minister in the Revanth Reddy Ministry since December 2024, handling the Irrigation and Food & Civil Supplies portfolios, highlight his sustained commitment to Telangana’s progress and welfare.
