Thummala Nageswara Rao, a seasoned politician from the Congress party, has had a distinguished four-term tenure as a minister in both the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Born on November 15, 1953, in Gollagudem village, Khammam District, and educated in commerce, Rao began his political journey with the TDP in 1982. He was elected thrice as an MLA from Sathupalli constituency and once from Khammam. Despite a brief stint in the TRS, where he served as Minister for Roads and Buildings, Rao joined the Indian National Congress in 2023. He has had a notable political career, winning the Palair constituency in a by-election as a BRS candidate and later securing a victory in the 2023 Assembly Elections from Khammam. Known for his development initiatives in Khammam and various ministerial roles under four Chief Ministers, Rao’s political journey reflects significant contributions to his constituency and state, with a focus on infrastructure and welfare projects.
