Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority’s Logistics Park at Batasingaram is likely to be inaugurated on Thursday by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao.
The Logistics Park at Mangalpally is already operational and developed in an area of about 40 acres with a cost of nearly Rs.40 crore, the new facility at Batasingaram will be the second one in the city.
MAUD Minister on Tuesday tweeted “Happy to be inaugurating a state of the art HMDA truck dock logistics park developed in PPP mode by HMDA. Telangana Government’s intent to set up an ideal logistics township is now being launched successfully at Batasingaram, exit 11, ORR, NH 65,”
The Minister tweeted “Park is developed to foster operations in a 24-hour format with safety surveillance. Truck parking, docking services along with organized grade-A warehousing is set in a perfect ecosystem coupled with value-added services of mini godowns, food, accommodation, and health care, etc,”.
Considering the demand and activity in the logistics sector in and around Hyderabad and with an objective of promoting the organized movement of goods, reduce the entry of multi-axle vehicles in Hyderabad, the State government through the HMDA initiated the development of logistic facilities around Hyderabad Metropolitan Area.
Accordingly, under phase-I, HMDA has taken up the development of logistics parks at Batasingaram and Mangalpally on PPP mode to provide infrastructure facilities towards meeting the increasing demand for facilities related to freight logistics.
HMDA has envisaged the development of logistics parks as an integrated one-stop facility for freight operators, third party logistic service providers, cargo handling companies, truck drivers, warehousing, parking, etc.
