MEIL (Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited) has officially launched the construction of the new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) complex in Hyderabad, marking a major milestone for public healthcare in the city. The groundbreaking ceremony took place during the recent Dussehra festival, with MEIL’s President of Projects, K. Govardhan Reddy, performing traditional rituals to inaugurate the project. The foundation stone for this ambitious initiative was originally laid by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on January 31, 2025.

The new OGH is being developed at the expansive Goshamahal Police Stadium site and will completely transform healthcare delivery in Hyderabad.

Scheduled for completion within 30 months, the facility will feature a cutting-edge 12-storey hospital block with a 2,000-bed capacity spread across 26 acres and a built-up area of 32 lakh square feet.

The modern complex will include 29 major and 12 minor operating theatres, advanced robotic surgery suites, organ transplantation facilities, and a rooftop helipad for emergency airlifts.

Two-level basement parking with space for 1,500 vehicles will be constructed for the convenience of staff, patients, and visitors.

The campus will house academic blocks, nursing, dental, and physiotherapy colleges, as well as hostels, a dharamshala, mortuary, and utility buildings, all designed for comprehensive medical education and service.
