Renowned historian and biographer Ramachandra Guha will be speaking on ‘The Challenges of Contemporary History’ at Vidyaranya High School in Hyderabad on Friday. The event will be hosted by the city-based organization Manthan, starting at 6:30 pm.

Guha will be speaking about the challenges that historians face while documenting the recent past and will be sharing his experiences, particularly post-Independence. He will also discuss the primary sources available to students of contemporary history and the biases that they should be aware of.
Guha is a well-known environmentalist, writer, and public intellectual who specializes in social, political, contemporary, environmental, and cricket history, as well as economics. He has written several critically acclaimed books, including “India after Gandhi,” “Gandhi before India,” “A Corner of a Foreign Field,” and many more.
