Hyderabad: The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has been awarded the Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2025 in the Institutional Category for its outstanding contributions to disaster management.
The award, established by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable efforts and selfless service of individuals and organizations in the field of disaster management across the country.
The Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar is announced annually on January 23, commemorating the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The award includes a cash prize of ₹51 lakh and a certificate for institutions, and ₹5 lakh along with a certificate for individuals.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, India has made remarkable strides in disaster management, enhancing preparedness, mitigation, and response mechanisms. This progress has led to a significant reduction in casualties during natural disasters.
For the 2025 award, nominations were invited starting July 1, 2024, with a total of 297 entries received from institutions and individuals.
