New traffic restrictions introduced to support flyover and underpass construction cause initial confusion among commuters
Hyderabad: Continuous one-way traffic movement around KBR Park came into effect on Tuesday morning as Hyderabad traffic police introduced new restrictions to facilitate the construction of flyovers and underpasses around the national park.
The changes caused confusion among commuters, particularly during peak office hours. With several familiar entry and exit points restricted, many motorists struggled to understand the revised routes and ended up circling the park in search of the correct direction.
Traffic police personnel were deployed at important junctions to guide motorists and regulate vehicle movement. Despite their efforts, traffic congestion was reported at several points along the busy stretch.
Commuters who were unaware of the earlier trial run faced greater difficulty navigating the new one-way system. Police officials said that some initial confusion was expected while motorists became familiar with the revised traffic arrangements.
A senior traffic police official stated that personnel would continue to assist commuters at key locations. The official added that traffic movement is expected to become smoother within a few days as motorists adjust to the new route map.
Commuters travelling through the KBR Park area are advised to plan their journeys in advance, follow traffic signage and cooperate with police personnel to avoid delays.
