Hyderabad is all set to host the eagerly awaited 84th edition of the All India Industrial Exhibition, widely known as Numaish. Originally slated to begin on January 1, the event was rescheduled to January 3 (Friday) due to the Telangana government’s seven-day mourning period following the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The inauguration will be led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
This year’s exhibition is anticipated to attract an impressive 25 lakh attendees, up from last year’s 22 lakh. Ticket prices have been updated to ₹50, a slight increase from the previous year’s ₹40.
A key highlight of the event is a Times Square-inspired LED display screen, designed to feature advertisements alongside visitor photos and videos, which can be shared with them, according to Suresh Kumar, convenor of the Exhibition Society. Additionally, steps have been taken to address previous issues with mobile network connectivity. “Visitors can expect seamless mobile network and data services, ensuring hassle-free UPI payments,” he assured.
This year’s exhibition will also introduce a new double-decker bus, complementing the popular mini-train, offering visitors a unique tour of the vast grounds. Over 2,000 exhibitors, including representatives from State and Central government departments, public sector undertakings, corporates, and multinational companies, are set to participate, announced B. Surender Reddy, honorary secretary of the Exhibition Society.
Numaish 2025 promises an enhanced experience with upgraded amenities and safety measures. Clear signage will guide visitors to entry, exit, and emergency points, ensuring easy navigation. Security has been bolstered with 100 CCTV cameras and metal detector checks at all entrances.
Free parking will be available around the venue for visitor convenience. Entertainment includes an open-air theatre hosting cultural performances, while on-site medical services, including a dispensary managed by Yashoda Hospitals and a 24/7 ambulance service, will be available for emergencies. Additionally, ATM facilities and free drinking water stations will be provided.
Cultural and Social Impact:
Originally held in 1938 at Public Gardens, the exhibition relocated to its current site at Nampally in 1946. Beyond its cultural importance, Numaish plays a crucial role in supporting education. The event’s proceeds fund and manage 20 educational institutions in Telangana’s underdeveloped areas, benefiting around 30,000 students every year.
The exhibition also makes a significant contribution to government revenue. In the financial year 2023-24, the Exhibition Society generated ₹9.66 crore through GST, trade license fees, property taxes, and utility charges. This amount was ₹11.10 crore in 2022-23.
