Hyderabad: Hetero Drugs Company has donated Rs 10 crore towards the relief and rehabilitation programmes being implemented by the State government for rain and flood victims in Hyderabad. Hetero Group chairman Parthasaradhi Reddy said the financial assistance to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) was in response to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s measures to help the poor who were affected by the floods.
Ramoji Group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao declared a donation of Rs 5 crore. Representatives from the group Narsimha Reddy and Mallesham handed over the cheque to IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on Thursday. The Minister called Ramoji Rao over the phone and thanked him for his kind gesture. Meanwhile, KIMS hospital and Yashoda Hospitals also have donated Rs 1 crore each. Yashoda does it for the second time.
The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) made a donation of Rs 1 crore. Medicover hospital donated Rs 50 lakh. Telugu actor Pothineni Ram handed over a cheque for Rs 25 lakh to the Minister. Director N Shankar donated Rs 10 lakh and Uppala Srinivas Gupta of Srinivas Agro Products donated Rs 10 lakh. The minister thanked each one of the donors and appreciated their timely gesture.
