Hyderabad: Aiden Markram appointed as Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain for IPL 2023, announced via Twitter video with the caption “THE. WAIT. IS. OVER. #OrangeArmy, say hello to our new captain Aiden Markram.” The 2023 edition of IPL is set to begin on March 31st.

Following the departure of Kane Williamson, who was released at the end of the last season and subsequently joined Gujarat Titans during the 2023 auction, Aiden Markram is set to take over as the new captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Markram, who recently led the Sunrisers Eastern Cape team to victory in the inaugural SA20 tournament, was named the player of the series for his outstanding contribution of 365 runs and 11 wickets. In the previous IPL season, the 28-year-old South African all-rounder performed impressively, scoring 381 runs at an average of 47.63, including three half-centuries.
