Hyderabad: Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Airbus Helicopters have formalized a contract to establish an H125 final assembly line (FAL) in India. This facility will be the first instance of the private sector setting up a helicopter assembly plant in the country. The FAL will produce Airbus’ best-selling H125 helicopter for the Indian market and neighboring countries.
The contract was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The establishment of the FAL was announced in January by Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran. The H125, the world’s best-selling single-engine helicopter, excels in its category, capable of operating in high-altitude and extreme environments. It can be easily reconfigured for various missions, including aerial work, firefighting, law enforcement, rescue, air ambulance, and passenger transport.
