The 2 lakh sq ft facility begins operations with 1,600 employees and will support Octave’s global work in AI, software engineering, cloud, data and product development.
Hyderabad: Nasdaq-listed Octave Intelligence plc has opened its global technology and innovation centre in Hyderabad, strengthening the city’s position as a major destination for global capability centres and advanced technology operations.
Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in the presence of Octave CEO Mattias Stenberg and other senior representatives.
Spread across 2 lakh sq ft, the centre will serve as a key global technology and innovation hub for the company. Teams based at the facility will work across software engineering, artificial intelligence, data, cloud computing, product development and other advanced technology capabilities.
The Hyderabad centre will contribute to the development of technologies and solutions delivered to Octave’s customers worldwide. The company primarily supports industries where complex assets and critical infrastructure require real-time intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
The facility also includes an experience centre designed to showcase Octave’s technology capabilities and solutions.
Workforce to grow to 2,000
Octave has commenced operations at the Hyderabad centre with approximately 1,600 employees. The company plans to increase its workforce to 2,000 in the coming years.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is increasingly becoming the preferred destination for global companies establishing their first GCCs and entering the Indian market.
He attributed the city’s growing appeal to its strong engineering talent pool, specialised expertise and stable business ecosystem. He added that Octave’s decision to establish its global technology and innovation centre in Hyderabad further reflects the strength and diversity of the city’s innovation landscape.
Telangana targets 100 new GCCs
The Minister said Telangana attracted 75 new GCCs last year and is now targeting another 100 by next year.
He also highlighted that the capabilities being developed in Hyderabad have become more diverse and sophisticated over the past two years, spanning several industries and advanced technology areas.
Octave CEO Mattias Stenberg described Hyderabad as an exceptional location for the company’s next phase of global growth.
Octave was formed following the 2025 spin-off of Hexagon AB’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence and Safety, Infrastructure and Geospatial divisions. The company currently employs around 7,200 people across 45 countries.
