Hyderabad: State Government Approves Rs 826 Crore KBR Park Traffic Improvement Project
The State government has sanctioned projects worth approximately Rs 826 crore aimed at enhancing all six junctions surrounding KBR Park, as announced by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). This approval comes in response to the increasing traffic congestion in the area.
On Friday, the government granted administrative sanction of Rs 421 crore under the H-CITI scheme for the construction of flyovers and an underpass at the Jubilee Hills Checkpost, KBR Entrance, and Mugdha junctions. An additional Rs 405 crore has been allocated for the junctions at Filmnagar, Maharaja Agrasen, and Cancer Hospital.
According to the GHMC, the construction of grade separators at the six major junctions will facilitate smooth traffic flow across the identified crossroads. The designs for these junctions aim to create a conflict-free area, allowing for uninterrupted traffic movement. Traffic traveling clockwise will utilize a series of underpasses, while counter-clockwise traffic will flow via a series of flyovers. To prevent bottlenecks during the monsoon season, rainwater retention structures have been integrated into the underpass designs.
This initiative addresses the heavy traffic flow from work, business, and commercial trips in the vicinity of KBR Park, with significant road connectivity to key software hubs in Madhapur, Hitech City, Gachibowli, and Kondapur.
