Discover the scenic charm and cultural soul of Kerala at the ‘Lenscape’ Exhibition this March.
The aroma of freshly brewed filter coffee and the bustling energy of Madhapur are about to meet the serene backwaters and mist-covered hills of the South. From March 12th to 14th, the Chitramayee State Gallery of Art in Madhapur (often referred to as the TS Art Gallery) will transform into a visual gateway to Kerala.
A Traveling Mosaic
Organized by Kerala Tourism, “Lenscape Kerala” is a landmark all-India traveling exhibition that has finally made its way to our city. This isn’t just a collection of pretty pictures; it’s a curated narrative featuring 100 frames captured by 10 of India’s leading travel and media photographers.
Each photographer was given a specific district and five days to “respond” to the landscape. The result? A diverse visual diary that moves beyond the typical tourism brochures.
What to Expect:
- Diverse Perspectives: See Kerala through the eyes of acclaimed artists like Aishwarya Sridhar, Amit Pasricha, and Saurabh Anand Chatterjee.
- The Themes: From the rhythmic intensity of Theyyam performances and the architectural symmetry of ancient temples to the quiet stillness of the Paravoor backwaters.
- Beyond the Green: While the “emerald” hills are present, the exhibition also explores the secular fabric of the state, its wildlife, and the everyday rhythms of its people.
Why You Should Go
Whether you are a photography enthusiast looking for inspiration or someone simply longing for a getaway, this exhibition offers a moment of “stillness” in the heart of Hyderabad’s IT hub. It’s a chance to see how light, shadow, and culture intersect in “God’s Own Country.”
“The exhibition serves as a way-finder, bringing to viewers Kerala’s architectural marvels and the harmony of people that shaped the true Kerala story.” — PA Mohamed Riyas, Kerala Tourism Minister
