State scores 80% across key anti-narcotics parameters as EAGLE Director Sandeep Shandilya receives recognition in New Delhi
Hyderabad: Telangana Police has received national recognition for its efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse, securing an impressive 80 per cent score across seven key parameters prescribed by the Centre.
Sandeep Shandilya, Director of the Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), received the recognition from Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the National Conference of Anti-Narcotics Task Force Heads in New Delhi.
The assessment covered seven major areas, including intelligence operations, control of precursor chemicals and synthetic drugs, prosecution, demand and harm reduction, coordination and capacity building, research and analysis, and administration and logistics.
The two-day national conference brought together senior anti-narcotics and police officials from States and Union Territories across the country. Discussions focused on strengthening efforts against drug trafficking, improving coordination among enforcement agencies and developing stronger mechanisms to prevent substance abuse.
Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand congratulated the police force on the recognition and appreciated the efforts of officers involved in anti-narcotics enforcement.
He said Telangana Police would continue to strengthen its enforcement and preventive mechanisms as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related activities across the State.
The recognition highlights Telangana Police’s continued focus on intelligence-led enforcement, inter-agency coordination, prevention and awareness initiatives in addressing the narcotics challenge.
