Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has started preparing proposals for a 2.65 km-long, four-lane, high-level iconic cable-stayed bridge to be constructed across the historic Mir Alam Tank in Bahadurpura.
This is the second iconic high-level cable-stayed bridge being constructed in Hyderabad, following the first one at Durgam Cheruvu. This new bridge will connect Chinthalmet Road to the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway. In March, the state government granted administrative approval for the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 363 crore.
The bridge will span 2.21 km, with entry ramps on either side of the tank measuring 205 and 140 meters, respectively, and an exit ramp of 110 meters. Beautification of the lakefront and other developmental works, including the establishment of tourism infrastructure and facilities for commuters and tourists, are being undertaken through a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
