Hyderabad: Indian equestrian athlete Abbas Khan has become the first showjumper from the country to receive the Bharat Youth Award.
The award was presented to him in Dehradun by Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), in recognition of his accomplishments in equestrian sport and his contribution to India’s presence on the international showjumping stage.
At just 21 years of age, Abbas has emerged as one of India’s promising young athletes in the showjumping category. He has represented the country at international competitions and carried the Indian flag at several prestigious equestrian arenas abroad.
The honour marks an important milestone in Abbas’s sporting career and highlights the growing recognition of young Indian talent in international equestrian sport.
