Hyderabad: The government is planning to develop a theme park at Durgam Cheruvu Lake to make it a more attractive destination for tourists and residents.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), in collaboration with the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), is planning to develop a theme park at Durgam Cheruvu Lake, spanning 33 acres. On Friday, July 12, Metropolitan Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed inspected the site to identify areas for creating lung spaces and enhancing greenery for visitors.
Aside from Durgam Cheruvu Lake, Metropolitan Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed also inspected the Kokapet-Neopolis Layout, including the allotted and auctioned lands. He instructed officials to complete the pending works in these layouts.
Spread over 63 acres, Durgam Cheruvu Lake in Hyderabad is a major attraction known for its peaceful ambiance and cool environment. It offers various boating options, including mechanized boats, pedal boats, and water scooters, for adventure enthusiasts. Located near Inorbit Mall, between Madhapur and Jubilee Hills, this serene and expansive waterbody is ideal for unwinding. It’s considered one of Hyderabad’s most picturesque sightseeing spots, featuring a floating restaurant as another major attraction.
