Hyderabad: As part of Foundation Day celebrations of the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) is organizing virtual open day week celebrations from September 21 to 26.
Every year, the CCMB campus is thrown open to school children on the occasion of Foundation Day. However, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the CCMB festival has been restructured and instead of just one day, the event will be organized over a week from September 21.
It includes discussions with scientists on various topics of life sciences with a glimpse at some of the experiments and panel discussions on various urgent and contemporary issues in science and policymaking. The sessions include fundamental questions of life and its structure to the impact that science makes on society and some problems that India should focus on to groom a healthy understanding of science among the public. The sessions will run from 10 am to 6 pm each day.
“While CCMB has always been very enthusiastic about its Open Day, this year is unique where we can finally stretch it to a whole week. We hope we will be able to exchange our thoughts and listen to the public in greater depth in this new format”, says Dr. Rakesh K Mishra, Director, CCMB.
The CCMB open week is open for anyone above 12 years of age, and with access to a smartphone and internet. For details: https://tiny.cc/ccmbopenweek
