Hyderabad: As one of the city’s main rescue teams, the Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance, and Disaster Management (EV&DM) wing of the GHMC is set to receive brand-new equipment soon.
A total of 119 items have been listed to enhance the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams’ operational readiness.
The department has recently issued a tender for the supply and delivery of disaster rescue tools, uniforms, and various other items, including waist harnesses, safety nets, ropes, telescopic ladders, life jackets, a variety of axes and shovels, submersible pumps, fire proximity suits, and medical kits.
With the deadline for bid submissions set for Friday, the quotes will be reviewed by the technical team, and contracts are expected to be awarded soon.
Additionally, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has expanded the DRF teams’ coverage to include the Outer Ring Road (ORR), increasing the number of teams from 30 to 45.
In parallel, GHMC has also issued tenders for the removal and relocation of trees around the Darulshifa Circle to facilitate junction improvement works.
