Hyderabad: For his 12th birthday, Chinmay Siddharth Shah, wanted to do something different that the usual celebration. And the Grade 7 Student of Pebble Creek Life School came up with the decision of spending his birthday budget to adopt a Royal Bengal Tiger named ‘Sankalp’ at the Nehru Zoological Park.
Chinmay along with his father Siddharth Kantilal Shah, visited the office of the zoo curator and handed over a cheque of Rs.25,000 to A.Nagamani, zoo deputy curator, on Saturday. The amount will be for adoption of the tiger for a period of three months
Incidentally, there were more animal adoptions happening at the zoo on Saturday. While Havisha Jain and Vihaan Atul Shah adopted nocturnal animals, small birds were adopted by sisters – Preksha, Priyal, Dhwani and Bhakti Nagda, who handed over a cheque of Rs.5,000 each.
The zoo deputy curator, Nagamani thanked the children for their gesture, love and affection towards the conservation of wildlife and appealed the citizens to come forward in more number and adopt animals in Nehru Zoological Park.
